Maintenance & Repair – Preserving Assets

A property needs to be maintained to retain its value.  If your property has specific repair issues, we will inspect the property, draw up specifications enabling us to get detailed prices from builders/contractors and organise the works.  We will liaise with contractors, answer queries as the work progresses, inspect the works and sign off on completion.  We can also give Party Wall advice.

We also provide a Planned Maintenance service in which we will carry out an initial survey prioritising repairs year by year.  We will provide budget costings for each repair item and agree with you a yearly expenditure programme.  We will then obtain prices from contractors, organise the works, answer any queries, and inspect and sign off the works on completion.

 

Historic Buildings

Whether you want to alter, convert, repair or maintain a historic property, our team has long experience in the care and conservation of Listed and Heritage Buildings.

We give advice on renovation and restoration of traditional buildings and will make Listed Building and Conservation Area applications on your behalf, and guide your project through the whole process, from inception to completion.

 

Fire Risk Assessments

Fire safety law changed in October 2006 with the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

The requirement for businesses to have fire certificates has been abolished and any previously held are no longer valid. Instead the law emphasises on preventing fires and reducing risk, and makes it your responsibility to ensure the safety of everyone who uses your premises and in the immediate vicinity.

In England and Wales, the duties are imposed on the Responsible Person, who, in a workplace, is the employer, but, in premises that are not a workplace, is the person having control of the premises. The duty can also be imposed on other persons having control of the premises, such as managing agents.

We can carry out a fire risk assessment on your premises and identify the general fire precautions you need to have in place.
