Helen’s Great Yorkshire Tractor Run – 400 mile tractor challenge round England’s biggest county

Helen Benson, who is the Yorkshire Co-ordinator for the farming charity, FCN, is aiming to complete her 400 mile challenge in just nine days. Her route, right round the perimeter of the county, will take in everything from Pennine peaks to coastal plains.

Helen’s inspiration for her epic trek is her father, William Sykes, who originally bought the DB 880 tractor and as she sets off from Elslack on May 30, she will be waved off by Peter White, the gentleman that sold the tractor at Craven Ag all those years ago.

Each day the tractor run will start at 10.00am and Helen is inviting anyone interested to join her on the route. A full itinerary is available on her Facebook page, which can be found by searching Helen Benson’s Great Yorkshire Tractor Run.

A £10 donation to FCN will be requested for every tractor joining in and the whole event will reach its climax at the annual Tractor Fest at Newby Hall, Ripon on June 8.
